Re: Salon music
Here's another offering from my collection of stuff that I don't
really want, but always feel compelled to buy whenever I spot it,
in order to rescue it from oblivion! This piece is by Iris Taylor.

Re: Salon music
Nice one Tim. The composer is actually Fred Hartley using his Iris Taylor pseudonym.

Re: Salon music
August(e) Ergmann (unf. no biographical datas found, may be somebody else (?))
Caprice melodique - Souvenir du jeune âge
Published by William Czerny, London, n.d. [c.1870-1880]
Little update:
There were two composers with the name A. Ergmann.
Auguste Ergmann was a French organist in the 19th century
and
August (without -e) Ergmann was a German pianist and teacher, who lived and worked in Cologne and Leipzig.
The posted piece seems to be written by August (without -e) Ergmann.

Re: Salon music
Nice one Tim. Lamarte is definitely new to me. I see two suites in Worldcat: The River Path and The Enchanted Valley, both published by Page.

Re: Salon music
Jim, thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, I don't have the other suite.
The middle piece from the above file is available on YouTube, played
by our colleague Phillip Sear.

Re: Salon music
Here's another scan which I did recently. Having uploaded it to IMSLP,
it turned out that another scan of the same album was already on there.
This was despite the fact that, as always, I'd done a preliminary check to see.
Anyway, the music is so much fun to play, it deserves duplication!
It's by Charles Godard (= Franz Behr).

Re: Salon music
That's quite an impressive album! Of the 17 works you've listed,
7 are already on IMSLP, but there's a lack of Lack as follows:-
Opp. 117, 92, 58, 134, 152, 46, 116, 130, 118 & 153.
