Seconded! Seeing his Phantasy Concerto for piano & orch would be ultra-prima! I got the Barbican to borrow a copy from Cambridge for me but wasn't allowed to take it home!

Phantastick!! I am drooling at the thought. I spent a happy hour at the Barbican reading it and it struck me as a minor masterpiece.

Thank you so much for the Kaun and Goossens...each work is absolutely superb. The Kaun Preludes far exceeded my expectations and I intend to give them careful study and practice. Thus far I'm impressed by his sense of drama; from the mourning melancholia of Nos. 1 and 4, to the ferocious outburst of anger inherent in No. 7 (as well as several others). This material really grabs your attention and doesn't get go. Very, very exciting!! I think your discovery of Hugo Kaun is an important event in piano literature. He is truly a genuine example of a completely forgotten and overlooked genius. And to think the Preludes represent his Opus 118!! The volumes of undiscovered treasures out there wasting away to dust in libraries just boggles one's mind! Kaun is really worth exploring.

Ausgezeichnet!!! (that's one German word I don't need to use the umlaut key for!)

Alfor, I love the Kaun and Goossens. Kaun's preludes are just outstanding, and who'd have though Goosens would be so harmonically adventurous. These are great finds and I thank you for them. I must echo Frank's comments--these Kaun preludes are a major discovery. Be sure and check IMSLP which has his 2nd piano concerto and piano sonata.
