Please replace the previous upload of Puccini Crisantemi with this corrected version.
The original work (1890) is scored for string quartet and the themes were used in the opera Manon Lescaut in 1893.
Thanks. I hope someone tries it out. It is one of my favorite works and called out to be arranged for piano.

Thanks for sharing this excellent transcription.
(My personal view of Puccini is greatly marred
by a photo I've seen of him shooting wildfowl.)

My personal view of Puccini is greatly marred by having to sing (or should I say shout?) Turandot FOUR times. He did not write kindly for the voice, quite unlike Verdi, who by comparison is a joy to sing!

Rob - it would be interesting to know which of the famous composers
wrote sympathetically for the voice and which ones didn't, in your view.
(Btw, I have a real bee in my bonnet about the way we treat animals.)

So far, Beethoven & Puccini are at the top of my hate list in regards to doing damage to my voice and setting me tasks which are impossible! I've encountered few problems in Brahms, Verdi & Rossini.
I'm doing LvB's Missa Solemnis in the Autumn with Noseda & the OAE, and it is quite the hardest and toughest thing I've ever sung. Beethoven probably never sang a thing in his life. It's like trying to sing one his late quartets. Vocally it's absolutely mad. Musically though it is quite magical.

Scores like this are rather good for school orchestras and the like where not every instrument is available or up to scratch, and where the piano can guide or even fill in where necessary.
