Rob - I wasn't having a go at you - it was intended as a more general
observation of the fact that of all the hundreds of members here, only
a handful ever join in the fun here.

Quite nasty Tim, I am missing one of the decomposers of the Four seasons.
My answers for what they may be worth are as follows
1. Haydn, Tschaikovsky, Glazunov, John Cage, Peteris Vasks and Douglas Ashley
2. Vivaldi. Sorabji was going to do a set but before he could finish each season the weather had changed

Very good Brian - you got some which I didn't know about.
Here are some other slightly more famous ones you could have had:-
1. Spohr (Symphony No9),
2. Verdi (Ballet from Sicilian Vespers), Piazzolla (Tangos),
3. Weber (English name for Cantata J283).
The Weber one was incredibly nasty of me to include, since this English
name for it appears nowhere on tinternet! I have the score here - it is very
beautiful and is scored for piano, flute, 2 sopranos, tenor, bass, and choir.
To my mind, Tchaikovsky's contribution should never have been called that -
it should have been called something like 'The Months of the Year'.
