Hi Tim

I'm actually in the UK at present (conference in Cambridge next week), and enjoying the warmish summer, having come from a freezing Jo'burg.

To keep the ball rolling:

2. Jascha Heifetz
4. Yehudi Menuhin
8. Itzhak Perlman
10. Maxim Vengerov

Now over to Brian.

3. Fritz Kreisler
7.Niccolo Paganini

who will answer No.9 I wonder
regards
Brian

OK Guys,
probably the most famous violin maker in history and therefore the odd man out as he was not a performer.

Well done all, though not too taxing, I suspect.
There seem to be several Jewish names in the list,
although that wasn't intentional.

1 is Pablo Casals, and 5 is YoYo Ma, so I suspect we are dealing here with the violoncello. If you mean by 'odd one out' the person you have omitted from the list, then I can't seem to identify Jacqueline Du Pre anywhere...

Regards
Fred

9 is presumably Msitislav Rostropovich, but Tim, you can't count!
