Thanks for the latest pieces Malcolm. I'm thrilled you discovered the preludes also! Also let me thank Frank for his great additions. Those Aloiz pieces are beautiful and I'm always pleased to look at another Nocturne à la Chopin !

Regarding pedagogic material, I request information and scores by Tatiana Ivanova Smertina.
Thanks.

All I can find are various YT clips of a cute Russian girl with an axe, 'Combination'
pop group, pink poetry, a book called Travnik: Stikhi, and some Bylina, all done in
a pre-Raphaelite/very soft porn style.
Mind-boggling stuff, and definitely pedagogical material, but I doubt if this is what
you are seeking. Having said all that, I'm sure she could teach me a thing or two!

And finally the last of the Aloiz works that I have been able to obtain; another set of Quatre Morceaux, Op. 51. I wish there was more material available by this particular composer, but sadly like so many of the other great Russian romantics his work is buried in complete obscurity. Thanks to Malcolm and this forum we can bring at least some of "what once was" to light.

We must thank you deeply Frank. Really these Aloiz obscure pieces are such a treat and I must say I'm very pleased to see our collection of Russian and Soviet Composers increased everyday. Terrific efforts!

Dear Frank,
thank you very much for having located and scanned these rarities from the depth of the Jurgenson and Zimmermann catalogues!
At least a couple of libraries are willing to share such rarities.
Best regards
alfor

Do I detect a Brahmsian influence here, by way of Handel?
Regards
Fred
