Go to the top of the class Brian!
Actually, it's quite difficult to pitch the difficulty level somewhere
in the middle i.e. not too easy, which makes it trivial and boring,
but not too hard, which can be a turn-off.
Anyway, on a slightly different topic, I saw that program about
Parry presented by Prince Charles last night. Staggeringly, not
a single reference to Stanford throughout the entire program,
despite their very closely intertwined careers and similar
compositional styles!

Jo, I believe you, therefore go to the top of the class alongside Brian!

Brian, is there any chance of you selling your letter from CVS to AB?
If so, I'd be happy to buy it from you if the price was right.

More quizzes in the pipeline.....

Yet more anagrams, this time on musical forms.
For example, No poetic acorn = Piano Concerto.
See how many of these you can unscramble.
Each one has a two-word answer.

1. Quit nicer talent,
2. Flout concrete,
3. To queer boat,
4. Equation part,
5. Squirting tent,
6. Fornicate as innocent,
7. Savior's tiny champion,
8. As rotation,
9. No salivation,
10, Twice don't.

Enjoy!

An early Christmas present for us, Tim? Not quite up to your usual devious standard!

Here are the answers to the first three. Let's see if any other members (apart from the usual suspects) are tempted to try.

1. Clarinet quintet
2. Flute concerto
3. Oboe quartet

I am getting worried about our Timtin, the level of sexual innuendo in these clues will no doubt upset our more PC members. I daren't answer any of them until I drink some bromide.

4 is Piano Quartet, a personal favourite of mine, despite having a piano in it.

5 is String Quintet, a personal favourite of our Tim's, which is odd since there is no piano in it.

9 is Violin Sonata

Postscript

6 is almost Concertino Fantasia, but there is an extra n...

Thank you 'usual suspects', and apologies if it's not devious enough.
Actually Rob, you're absolutely correct about my penchant for string
quintets. String quartets with that extra bit of richness, but with every
voice still clear to hear - perfect!
Btw1, trying to get anyone else to join in is about as easy as finding
all of Stanford's piano music (in pdf and on CD).
Btw2, note that the answers (apart from no.11 (see below)) are in
alphabetical order, if that helps with the others.
Btw3, the coefficient of muckiness would have been increased had
I opted to include this bonus question:-

11. Sex in teapot.

OK, time to add the missing numbers:

7. Symphonic variations
8. Trio sonata
10. Wind octet
11. Piano sextet (suggestive in itself, even despite the clue).
