About time we doubled our collection of Polovinkin scores !! Have had these for a while but only just got around to getting them scanned [with thanks to Mr P], and nicely cleaned by Parag [sincere thanks as ever].

Thanks for the Polovinkin, Malcolm. I've been enjoying this composer's direct approach to melody and great fun to play. Every time I think this thread has about played out, you surprise us with more interesting pieces.

Alexander Tcherepnine (1899-1977) - unfortunately a number of his works are still in print and, of course, under copyright, but I have allowed the occassional work as illustrative of his music. The follow work is complete - but the odd piece from this work has been posted on this site in the past [and apologies, an old score so a little odd shadowing].

It's just amazing that so many worthy yet obscure Russian composers have turned up and are being shared here. I'm even more amazed that Gaigerova and Jelobinsky remain shadowy figures.

A member recently asked me about the music of one of Rosavets pupils - Pyotr Teplov, so have scanned a couple of his works that I held.

Pyotr Vasil’yevich Teplov. Born 1899, Golitsyno, Penza district. Composer. Graduated in 1919 from Penza teacher seminary; and in 1930 completed studies with Stravinsky and Roslavet (composition 1924-26) at the Moscow Music Technical School. Participant in World War II. From 1945-1947 music editor of ‘Muzfonda’; from 1947-1969 editor at "Muzyka" publishing house. Date of death not known.
