As always thank you so much Malcolm. So good to see there's still new pieces to explore in this thread.

Thanks for the Polovinkin, Malcolm. I've been enjoying this composer's direct approach to melody and great fun to play. Every time I think this thread has about played out, you surprise us with more interesting pieces.

Alexander Tcherepnine (1899-1977) - unfortunately a number of his works are still in print and, of course, under copyright, but I have allowed the occassional work as illustrative of his music. The follow work is complete - but the odd piece from this work has been posted on this site in the past [and apologies, an old score so a little odd shadowing].

It's just amazing that so many worthy yet obscure Russian composers have turned up and are being shared here. I'm even more amazed that Gaigerova and Jelobinsky remain shadowy figures.

A member recently asked me about the music of one of Rosavets pupils - Pyotr Teplov, so have scanned a couple of his works that I held.

Pyotr Vasil’yevich Teplov. Born 1899, Golitsyno, Penza district. Composer. Graduated in 1919 from Penza teacher seminary; and in 1930 completed studies with Stravinsky and Roslavet (composition 1924-26) at the Moscow Music Technical School. Participant in World War II. From 1945-1947 music editor of ‘Muzfonda’; from 1947-1969 editor at "Muzyka" publishing house. Date of death not known.

Piano works include:
Piano Sonata (1926-28)
Suite “Moon’s Poison” (1929)
Two Preludes (1928)
Teplov P - Two Preludes.pdf
Three Pieces (1945)
Ten Inventions (1946)
Two Polyphonic Etudes (1960)
Ten Kazakh Etudes
Teplov P - Two Etudes from Ten Kazakh Etudes [Nos 3 & 9].pdf
“Pleiads” suite (1977)
“Months of the Year” Album for Youth (1986)
