Hello Frank,
I must thank you for the Yamekraw -A Negro Rhapsody and the piece in fourths. Lovely music, and a joy to play. (Not up to speed yet, but I am getting there).

Hi Peter,
So nice to hear from you! I'm so very glad that you could use "Yamekraw" and "Jungle Nymphs". Yes, that latter one (the study in fourths) is tough to play at tempo, but rather a useful etude!!
I've been wanting to thank you for all your wonderful scanning work and the postings made possible thereby. This work has strongly encouraged me personally to not only get back to playing the piano more frequently, but also to get more of my own collection scanned and up on Pianophilia. Sharing music is the only way we can truly "keep" it forever. Thanks again.
All Best,
Frank

To complete our archive on the piano solos of Roy Bargy, here listed are two publications which came out much later than the pieces that he is mostly known for. Both are collaborations with jazz pianist Frank Signorelli. (Sorry about the photocopy quality on "A Lover's Fantasy," but that's been all I could come up with after many years). And so completes Roy Bargy's piano works....

Going through the "E" folders I came across a number of instrumental novelty/ragtime/jazz solos by Duke Ellington. I thought these would be of general interest. Will start with the folios, of which there are several.
All Best,
Frank

Hello Frank,
Thank you for your kind words. I am pleased I have been of use in getting you playing the piano more, and, indeed for scanning and putting music from your collection on PP for our enjoyment.
You have captured the reason for scanning and sharing just right. It gives a lot of pleasure, but it also keeps the music available for others. I still have a huge amount of music I want to get onto the site, so hope that I can give you much more to enjoy.
Best wishes.
Peter.

Continuing with Duke Ellington...many of his instrumental pieces were never published beyond the "professional copy" stage; i.e. sans cover art. However, a great deal of these do exist as piano solo arrangements, and there are a few gems of ragtime-jazz-novelty within this group. I'll be posting these in alphabetical order. Enjoy!
