Polish Composers

Same situation in Denmark. A very fine interlibrary loan system. Lots of great stuff available. But much of the stuff from the royal library in Copenhagen and the music conservatory is not available for us ordinary Citizens.

Balladhe, the facility described by Alfor is certainly not available all throughout Europe. In France, like in your country, most libraries (usually run by the city) have no score at all, and do not have the interlibrary loan system. And musical libraries which exist in Conservatoires are not open and available to general public.

I started wondering if it works in France! I spent last year in Paris and I was quite confused: they are all run by the city, you have just one card valid everywhere, and still, they do not cooperate at all - but I thought I simply misunderstood something and I wasn't determined enough to ask further questions (maybe if I could rely on my French more it wouldn't be that intimidating). So now I know for sure...

And now I have to admint, absolutely honestly, that the last thing I thought about was checking PWM site... I got used to them never having things I'm looking for, that I temporary forgot they even exist! Well, even if they had them, it was always something not-for-student-budget.
Right, the 320 pages book contains the complete. At least according to the list I have in biography book, which is quite a cause of my sudden interest in M's piano pieces, and works in general

4candles - I am aware of the composer but have never seen any works by him. Even biographical information seems very scant and not even sure if he was Polish [can find no mention in any of my reference works and no entry in Polish National Library]. The majority of his works [most seemingly being salon pieces beyond the Concerto-Symphonique] are all housed in the French Bibliotheque Nationale.

Even biographical information seems very scant and not even sure if he was Polish [can find no mention in any of my reference works and no entry in Polish National Library].

A rather long review of a concert he gave in the French city of Metz in 1863 mentions him as Polish. However, he was actually born in France from a Polish language teacher, François Wroblewski, who emigrated in France.

Emile Wroblewski was at a time the Court pianist of the Impératrice Charlotte, wife of Maximilien, Empereur du Mexique.
