Dear fleubis, dear phikfy,

you are welcome"

Reg. Navarra: There is an excellent recording by young Gilels
with only one drawback imho: Gilels nearly makes Albeniz's characteristic
„non-thematic-minor-second-based-quasi-cluster-dissonances“
inaudible.

Alfred, that's an unacceptable drawback, IMHO. As usual, I prefer Alicia de Laroccha. What was Gilels thinking?

Imo, I like Rubinstein's 're-working'. His bravura style impresses me much. The latest Luiza Borac recording with the Lipatti 're-working' is very interesting too.

Alfred, that 2nd Rhapsody sure has a lot of editorial fingering by Szpinalski on the initial Lento a Capriccio section, but after that things seem quite normal and nice clean pedaling for good effect.

A welcome addition!

I prefer to call it List-Alabiew "The Nightengale", S.250 No.1. This used to be a very popular piece when PWM was seeking to exploit it and so they came out with this nice edition for us.

Beethoven is always welcome, and his bagatelles rarely get the attention they deserve. PWM chose No.3 & 4 of the 7 bagatelles making up Op.33 as the most worthy ones, and I think they made the right choice--but only if you have to pick two.

Nice editions to have around, Alfred. Thank you.

I would certainly take issues with PWM selections from Schumann's wonderful set of 20 Albumleafs making up Op.124. Why they choose the Waltz, I cannot guess, but I'd guess they want some selections of very easy pieces for the youngsters to play--pieces which Schumann has in abundance, fortunately! The lovely Grieg nocturne needs no introduction, as it is so well known, and a good choice for PWM.

Thanks for posting, Alfred.
