Re: French Piano Music
Thanks indeed for this. I hope people don't dismiss Méreaux's works outside his (technically valuable) studies. Though many of them have salon titles, I think some deserve attention - the best of which, I think, could sit alongside the works of a much more well-known composer... I am also interested to see if anyone can get a hold of any of his chamber works (Trio and Quatuor in particular). I think they are in the British Library, but I can't afford their copy charges at the moment

Great. Curious as to where you are getting the Méreaux files. Gallica is it, or are you getting scans independently?alegitor wrote:

Re: French Piano Music
Does anyone have anything by French(?) composer Auguste Guéroult? Pupil of Méreaux (I think).
According to one Romantic/late-Romantic era critic, he was dubbed 'the French Schumann', so that has piqued my interest.

Here is one of the pieces of Alphonse Duvernoy's op.8. I have some more from this opus coming in the mail, and when they arrive I will have 6 pieces from op.8. Thanks to the Pazdirek link from Precalculus, I can verify that op.8 has 6 pieces and it will be complete.
