Programmatic titles for all of the Latvian pieces, so the publisher definitely had a scheme in mind. All new to me, as usual. But plenty to chew on here and I especially like Zemzaris "Fractures" - it is quite an effective piece. The only Lativian composer I know is Janis Medins, though not represented in this collection, in my mind his Dainas represent a high water mark in the Latvian piano music that we've seen so far. (And still I'm still searching for Medins missing Dainas). Another interesting collection here, Alfor, thanks!

A very nice selection of Alexandrov's pieces--a good album to introduce him to an unsuspecting pianist and what a wonderful surprise he'd be in for. The only changes I see in the "revised" 9th sonata is that he has added pedal indications throughout. Always a welcome suggestion.

Sorry, no scores today. Only my best wishes to all fellow pianophilians for a Merry, blessed Christmas - or. to use the more recent formula: Happy Holidays! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holiday_greetings ;)

Will be back in about a week with new scores!
Best regards, Alfor S. Cans
