Re: Music of the Caucasus [Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia etc.]
I have now got to the end of the works posted on the Georgian site, and the remaining scores I have I will post over the next few days. But new scores are being up-loaded slowly to the site, so I shall post these as and when I can.
This is a new composer to me: Lev Grigorevich Ninyev (Niniev). Born 1917, Sighnaghi : died ? Georgian composer and teacher.
Studied piano with Virsaladze at the Tbilisi Conservatoire, where he graduated in 1941. Fought in World War II, and then later after the war studied composition again at the Tbilisi Conservatoire under Balanchivadze, graduating in 1948.
From 1948-74 taught at various music schools in Tbilisi, and from 1974 taught at the Republican House of National Creativity, and from 1976 also taught piano at the Paliashvili Music School No. 2.
