Re: YouTube Finds
I'm assuming this is Aida Isakova, does anyone know what is being played here?

It says she is discussing her ballet "Gak-ku" [("Cry of the Swan", 2005)]. There is a piece of that name in her suite "Children Pieces based on motifs from Kazakh Folksongs" so the ballet music may be using those motifs.

Re: YouTube Finds
Ivor Gurney's A Gloucestershire Rhapsody is beautiful English orchestral music at its very best. Amazingly, it only emerged less than 20 years ago, when the Gurney archive was researched, and it was premiered in 2010, so it's (sort of) younger than this forum!

Last year, a 1953 recording of Beethoven's Hammerklavier Sonata orchestrated by Weingartner was uploaded. The sound quality is much improved on that of the pre-war recording.

With Easter not too far off, it's the time of year when Bach's religious choral masterpieces often get performed. But this is one by Handel which I really love, having been completely off my musical radar for 67 years! John Eliot Gardner, I suspect, is also a huge fan.

Mozart's wonderful Clarinet Concerto, played on a basset clarinet, is a recent upload to YouTube.
