Here's another quiz for anyone who might be interested.
These 10 anagrammed composers with something in common.
Who are they, and what's the link? (Clue:- In Germany, be natural!)

1. Fence hardier doggerel (6,8,6)
2. I'm handy leach (7,5)
3. And fill hinderer (9,6)
4. Slash mean young amateur (7,4,4,6)
5. Vast hot slug (6,5)
6. Dishearten man like rich informer (9,8,4,8)
7. Litigious mud sought after (8,9,6)
8. Oh mum, phenomenal junk (6,7,6)
9. Like prudent bench germ (9,11)

2. I'm handy leach (7,5) = Michael Haydn

Well done Jo! Some of the others are somewhat obscure.
The link must now be fairly obvious. (B natural in Germany = H.)
Btw, the question about two composers' surnames being anagrams of
each other is still open. Apart from Grieg and Giger, the nearest I can
get is Hummel and Monsieur Mehul (i.e. M. Mehul) which is cheating!

I'll say! I've been scratching my head on and off all morning over the rest. I have two more:

9. Like prudent bench germ (9,11) = Engelbert Humperdinck
10. Nun's beer enthralment (6,13) = Anselm Huttenbrenner

Now it's over to Brian.

Only number 7 to find now
4. auguste mary anne holmes
6. Christian frederick Emil Horneman

but Tim...please next time you alter a clue and change the order leave a note to that effect I was chasing the wierdo No. 1 before you got rid of it. You do like to make things tougher than they should be
conditional regards
Brian
PS I had the others but must work and didn't get chance to whitewash Jo again!!!

Oops sorry Brian! I did a quick edit after you first saw the quiz,
which resulted in the deletion of Andreas Hammerschmidt, who
is perhaps a bit too obscure. Mind you, no.7 is not exactly famous,
though he was doubtless an august fellow.
Anyway, thank you both for 'playing the game' and well done for
getting everything correct so far.
Btw - work. What's that? It's not in my dictionary!

7. Litigious mud sought after (8,9,6) = Homilius, August Gottfried (who he?)

Should have been (6, 9, 8), Tim! I got this by trying some likely first names (Augustus, Gottfried, etc) and working out the answer by a process of elimination, assisted by Google.

Jo methinks Timtin is now carrying the idea of the crapagram to an alltime low!!!! Well done for spotting the (deliberate) error. However Tim has unwittingly given me an idea for a crapagram special which I will work on and present before you shortly.
cheers
Brian
PS To organists Homilius is quite a well known figure having written a number of chorale preludes
PPS Tim, work is a massive unwelcome interruption in my daily routine and I definitely do not recommend it unless you can afford not to, then it becomes a hobby

Well, if there were an olympic gold available for slip-ups,
I'd win it without any doubt. My original quiz draft did in
fact carry a crapagram disclaimer, which should have been
retained, along with a 'crapagrams are not set deliberately'
message. Anyway, hope it wasn't too annoying, and sincere
apologies if it was. Next time I'll try even harder to make
sure everything is 100pc correct prior to posting.
Work is something I fell out with 6 years ago, when being
made redundant for the 7th. time. That was when I finally
realised that I'm actually hopeless at everything!
