OK Jo and Timtin and hopefully some more of you, here is a quiz with a theme.
They are all composers united by a certain distinction, which was not easily earned as many failures testify to.
1. Board lent rat (6,6)
2. Julius please hum "One digs Soho"(5,6,10,5)
3. Hove mentally far (9,6)
4. I storm caves (6,5)
5. Odious bod there (8,6)
6. Jesus sent meal (5,8)
7. Deuce slays Bud (6,7)
8. Rich Aunt Petra Segev (7,11)...... [A relative of Oren's maybe???]
9. French tilt most (7,7)
10. Arabians reel (4,8)
11. Prince ran sea (6,6)
12. I ran ovula lie (5,7)

Very good Tim, 5 out of 5, I thought No.2 would keep you busy for a lot longer than this, excellent work, and now with a bit of sleuthing you should be able to find the thing that links these 5 people.

If 7 is Claude Debussy then that would suggest that each of these composers were recipients of the Prix de Rome, which would explain why Maurice Ravel is not on the list...(and Hector Berlioz should be...)
