Actually my understanding was that the Nocturne was written by a Dr. Felipe Santiago - NOT Francisco, so I am not convinced that the Eastman reference is the same guy and I don't recognise Kundiman as being the Phillipine song I had in mind as being "quintessentially Pinoy".

thanks though,

unconvinced as yet, but nonetheless

From a note my friend sent me:

"Nocturne in e flat minor
Performed in Manila March 1932 in My Graduation as Composer.
Dr. Francisco Santiago"

Hmm,
well it appears to be the same piece of music and you flatter me to say I converted it personally - but thank you for the link -
I haven't yet worked out how to reply to the person who said perhaps they could scan it - and I also notice that the comments suggest it was Francisco Santiago and NOT Dr. Felipe as I believed - so time will tell.

tobyjj wrote:Hello All,

Even though I have contacts in the Phillippines they are obviously not the right ones.

Could someone PLEASE find and post Felipe Santiago's Nocturne in Eb minor.

This mp3 file is from a personal video and despite processing it many times I can not remove the background hiss and video noise - however, it is still a beautiful, lush piece of music (played by a girl who must be only 9, to 12 years old).

The quote above is your original message... sorry if I misunderstood it.

Hi Parag,

not sure what your point is -

Still not sure what your point was, but thank you for the link & perhaps, since I have expressed some doubt as to how to go about replying to the offer of a scan at that link, you could offer some advice or help in that regard. I would appreciate it.

Thank you

Hi tobyjj,

As Jeremy has confirmed, the Nocturne is definitely by Francisco Santiago.

I don't have a youtube account so I can't tell you how to contact the user but I suppose there's a way to send a PM to the member if you have an account on youtube. Perhaps some member who has done this in the past would know better than me.
