Thank you Alfred...well found info. Neither Mr P or myself managed to locate any information and I don't even remember seeing IMSLP appear during my search on the internet, which is unusual if work are posted there.

Organist Charles Vincent (1852-1934).
See the back cover for other piano pieces by him.
Impressive CV? Not sure.

It's a shame that there isn't a separate Clementi thread. Maybe this should be in a vocal thread, but does anyone have the score of the obscure 2 Canzonette for voice and harpsichord by Muzio Clementi? I have only seen of this in the wildly expensive Ut Orpheus ongoing series. Thanks in advance!

Good afternoon!
Does anyone know of a concertante work by a British composer for piano and strings?
Your suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks

I'm sure there are many, but to my mind there is Benjamin Britten's Rondo Concertante for piano and strings for starters...?

If concertante means the same as concerto, then possibles may perhaps include:-
Howard Ferguson Concerto for Piano and Strings,
Alan Rawsthorne Concerto for Piano, Strings and Percussion,
Alec Rowley Concerto for Piano, Strings and Percussion,
Malcolm Arnold Concerto for Piano Duet and Strings,
Christopher Bodman Concerto for Piano Duet, Strings, Woodwind and Trumpet,
Australian(!) Malcolm Williamson Concerto for Piano, Strings and 3 Trumpets.

There is also:
Christian Darnton - Concertino for Piano & Strings
George Dyson - Concertino Leggiero for Piano & Strings
Gerald Finzi - Eclogue for Piano & Strings
Peter Racine Fricker - Concertante (but this requires 3 pianos and timpani)
Hans Gal - Concertino for Piano & Strings
Roberto Gerhard - Concerto for Piano & Strings
Cecil A Gibbs - Concerto for Piano & Strings
Cecil A Gibbs - Concertino for Piano & Strings
Joseph Horowitz - Jazz Concerto (requires drums as well)
Gordon Jacob - Concerto I for Piano & Strings
John Joubert - Concerto 1958 for Piano & Strings
Elizabeth Maconchy - Concertino for Piano & Strings
Cyril Scott - Concertino for Two Pianos & Strings
Humphry Searle - Concertante for Piano & Strings (percussion required)
Percy Young - Fugal Concerto for Piano & Strings

I think many early works by British composers would probably just be played with Piano/Harpsichord and strings, such as Arne, Avison, Wesley, Smith, Schroter, Burgess, Chilcott, Hook etc.....

Almost all available for hire from the CPS for the price of a gallon of ale.
