A brief warning. Sibley's enormous offering of scanned scores today (July 31, Saturday) included this 2H transcription, described as Julio Gomez's Suite en la para orquesta. Reducción para piano por J. F. Pacheco:

https://urresearch.rochester.edu/instit ... onNumber=1

When you click on the link, you'll see a long list of pieces but only the Suite is by Julio Gomez. Although Sibley doesn't identify the composers of each piece, they include Guridi (Tres Piezas), R Villar (Danzas, Nereida), and Ramon Zuera (Igualada).

Walter and Caprotti:

A very big (but embarrassingly belated) thanks for the Schubert An die Musik transcriptions. I had a friend who was looking for a version that was tailored more to piano solo and these made him very happy.

According to the title page, this is from Op9 No1. However, the
filename tells a different (and hopefully) more accurate story.

Has anyone ever taken a stab at a 2H transcription of Mendelssohn's Octet?

Thinking outside the box for a moment, would it be an idea to
have a new thread dedicated solely to all of Sibley's new links?

No. I quite strongly think that we should maintain the organisation by form and composer. So links for Piano Trios placed in the Piano Trio thread; links for Hummel in the Hummel thread etc etc.

Lumping everything together merely mirrors the function provided by the Sibley Library website itself, and so would be quite redundant. We only add value by being selective and promoting particular uploads in a categorised way.

Members can of course subscribe to Sibley to receive notifications by email of all uploads to their online music archive - as I have done now for several years! Jim Farrington and his staff are tremendously helpful and courteous and are a model that I only wish other libraries would emulate.

I expect one or two of his staff follow what we do here and so it is an opportunity to say on behalf of all members here just how much we value and appreciate their terrific work.
