Thank you Peter. Soedois on the front page of the first score is a typo for Suédois (Swedish) as correctly written on the first page of the music.
Vert-Vert is the name of a parrot, hence the image on the front page of the second score.

Worldcat indicates that copies are held at the Eastman School and at Cal State in Sacramento. Eastman has one of his songs online, the back cover of which lists several piano pieces. The Nocturne is probably still copyrighted.

The song online is probably the famous one that is trotted out as being quintessentially Pinoy - but it is not in the same class as the nocturne, I will check it out.
Copyrighted or not - the question is whether it is still in print and where to get it from - I don't mind buying music, it used to be the only way!!

Actually my understanding was that the Nocturne was written by a Dr. Felipe Santiago - NOT Francisco, so I am not convinced that the Eastman reference is the same guy and I don't recognise Kundiman as being the Phillipine song I had in mind as being "quintessentially Pinoy".

I see where some of my confusion comes from, the recording at this YouTube link:

indicates the composer as "Fransisco Santiago." The vocal piece by Francisco at Sibley does list a Nocturne in E Flat on the rear cover, though not minor--the entry in Worldcat does indicate E Flat Minor. I think this is worth looking into. Even more interesting is that I found a copy of Francisco Santiago's "In the Orient (Valsette in F Major)" on an old hard drive this morning. (As listed on the back cover of the piece at Sibley.) I have NO idea where I found it, but it was dated 10-03-11, so its recent. I've included a copy in this post.

The youtube pianist playing the Nocturne says in the comments, "from our college library, if you want i can scan the piece for you or you could check imslp.org there might be filipino pieces there .

Has anyone tried to PM her?
