As an aside to this, I was interested to recently discover quite striking similarities between the first piece in this set, À la Saltarelle and the opening of the final movement of Alkan's Sonate de Concert, Op. 47, which is called 'Finale alla Saltarella'! :)

Our friend Mr Powell may already be aware of this...?

Thanks, Alfor! I really like the Glazunov.....and these fill a hole in my collection, too. The more I play his pieces, the more pianistic they seem.

Alfor, you really have a rare one here, that's for sure. This sonata is over qualified for a "fair copy"......Hey, if you want to see great score calligraphy, check out the scores of George Crumb. Oh, that my hand-written scores should look this good. (I've given up every trying to legible and now do direct entry into Sibelius.)

We are in good company with our non-calligraphic score-writing (Beethoven, Liszt...). Trede had no choice. He only knew "Sieblius" as a finnish composer and "Finale" as the last mvt. of a musical work ;)
