Aha, a Frenchman solving English anagrams!
But why the surprise, after all, wasn't it a Frenchman who gave
us our longest running word game on tv (Countdown)?

All 10 of the Swiss composers in this quiz are listed on the appropriate IMSLP page,
and all are anagrams. (6,8,9 and 10 still to get.)

Hey, Tim, glad to see that you've revived the quiz!

6 = Giger
10 = Daetwyler

Still need to unscramble the others - shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Both correct, of course, Jo. Just 8 and 9 left to do.

Edward Grieg and Paul Giger are a rare example of two composers'
surnames being anagrams of one another.
This begs the question, are there any others?

These are different types of composer anagrams (full name converted to a sentence):

(Additionally, I've just thought of another one for Mozart,
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart = Woman gazed at slag forum.)

Btw, a slight correction to what I said previously.
It's the Wikipedia list of Swiss composers, not the IMSLP list,
which has all the answers.

and finally to put Timtim out of his double misery (Leicester City could only draw yesterday in front of their new manager Sven-Goran Eriksson) the two remaining answers are as follows:
8 Fritz Renold
9 Carlo Evasio Soliva
Up the Tigers!

ThnQ HHH. (N.B. HCFC nicked our manager during the summer!)
Now I can do another quiz, unless someone else would like to do one.
Also, any witty anagrams of the full names of famous composers
would be very welcome. Franz Liszt is possibly one the hardest to do.

Franz Liszt is impossible to do but here are some attempts at anagrams of composers, some wittier than others, just to take the pressure off Timtim, I think they are pretty easy, but then I would wouldn't I!.
1. Invalid Ovation
2. I bring Poles stave agitation
3. Dr. Frank re-lick nib here
4. Thugs blame Ridings
5. Brand school green
6. Ever itches
7. A greeting hole

Cowards! Here's a solution (no more contorted, Brian, than some of yours):

Slant Frizz (or Razz Flints?)

And, from Brian's list (the easiest two, probably)
1. Invalid Ovation = Antonio Vivaldi
6. Ever itches = Steve Reich

I prefer Flazz Trins, or Flins Tarzz.
