Thanks so much, Jellyroll! (I must say that the silence on this thread was becoming a bit deafening )

The next item I'm posting is a score I made from some blurry eBay scans (the original scans are included). I enlarged each page to make the score and each successive page seemed to become more difficult to read. The top left of page 4 was a real struggle! Anyway, I've included the following in the PDF file:

Cover Scan from eBay [enlarged]--I think that's the composer's picture at the top, but I'm not positive
My new (slightly corrected) 4 page score which corresponds exactly to the published score (except for the corrections)
the 4 enlarged scans from eBay
the original (smaller) 2 page scans from eBay (from which the enlargements were made)
the Ebay scan of the back cover [enlarged]

The extras are there JIC (just in case) you want to see them. I'm posting my midi, too, with the corrections noted in the file.

Though quite simple this is a very enjoyable rag (it's sitting on my piano this moment which is a good sign)! And, as always, if you find any errors--please let me know and I'll correct and repost!

it has been a long time that this "The Rag Thread" wasn't updated.

Some of you even know me, others not. My name is Adrien Le Gallo i'm a german/french passionated of Ragtime music living in Germany.
i specialized in European Dance music and collected a lot of music. Such names like Ernst Fischer, Erich Plessow or Lothar Perl should be common to some of you.

i'm still working on American music and just fell on Mel B. Kaufman. Checking out my originals to select sheets with nice covers to frame them, like "It's A Bird" (1917) or "Frisky" (1919), i searched all online sources for digitized pieces from Kaufman. i'm only interested in instrumental versions/pieces.

here the only piece of Kaufman i own, which isn't available online:
the 1917 published "Umbrellas To Mend". I'll put another Kaufman piece on the Novelty thread. Have fun with it.

There is a fair dose of Fred already represented, but I did not get a hit for this little diddy.

Description from the interwebs....
..."Daisy Rag, another Heltman "floral" rag, is a tidy composition having the quasi-sonata form of AABBACCA with a 4-bar introduction and a 4-bar interlude between the final C- and A strains, whereby the ABBA- and CCA are written in the major keys of C- and F- respectively. In this adaptation for recorder sextet the melodies are shared by the treble and 1st tenor voices. The C-strain is a full-blooded romantic passage strongly contrasting the other themes.
The cover of the original sheet music has the same general layout of Heltman's other "floral" pieces, Sunflower Babe (1909) and Clover Blossom Rag (1910), and shows a smiling lady surrounded by yellow petals, yet another botanical improbability perhaps but just as tasteful nonetheless.

Daisy Rag was published by Sam Fox Pub. Co., Cleveland, Ohio, USA.
A tempo of 80 crotchets/min. is suggested...." *further reading (great bio, info, and nice image of the original cover)

The E-F-F#-G does sound a bit like the second section of the Entertainer, but it's definitely not that.
