Thank you for clarification!
So it should either read:
Polonez jubileuszowy es dur
of (which may be some sort of Genitive??)
Leokodji MYSZYNSKIEJ WOYCIECHOWSKIEJ
or:
Leokadia Myszyńska-Wojciechowska
Polonez jubileuszowy es dur

P.S. There are seven (!) cases in the polish language:
nominative,
genitive,
dative,
accusative,
instrumental,
locative and
vocative.
Alas, duży królik can handle that!

I think it's Polonez .... "OF" the lady in question. Hence genitive.
But the whole language is a bit tricky. Lucky I did Latin, ancient Greek and Russian before, as a kid, or else I would've given up!
By the way, the piece was written to commemorate her husband's 50th year of practising as a doctor. Lovely.

Thanks for more info. (Yes, "by" should be dative). Not only the collected brains of all pianophilians are quite impressive, but also some single brains appear to be quite brilliant

(As he now speaks Arabic and Hebrew fluently, the hobby of one of my brothers is the study of extremely difficult languages, like that of some red indians - compared to which a european language like Polish is comparatively easy.)

Dear alegator, much thanks for posting the Michalowski edition of the Chopin etudes. One can never have enough editions of these most beloved of all etudes. I wait with eager anticipation part 2 of op.25. Indeed, while I am having much fun right now comparing the various editions I have on hand, but the most fun of all, playing through my favorites.....
I got all frustrated there for a minute with the Polish grammar discussion as I am intensely studying Spanish right now.....and at my age, I am easily confused! But nothing that playing a few Chopin etudes won't cure!
