Another winner, Alfred. The RUDNYTSKY sonata is an excellent post romantic, well-written piece. I've looked through my book of Ukranian folk tunes to see if I can spot any tunes the composer might have use, but no luck. I've had great fun playing this piece. So much music, so little time!
But I've found more time to go through this wonderful piece again, i would like to call attention to the composers occasional use of the "comma" "," which works to great effect.....something I had careless ignored previously.

As you said, he was born in a part of the world that was claimed by many different rulers, and which is now in Ukraine. In any case, his family in the USA clearly claims the Ukrainian heritage, not the Polish one.
