It must disappoint Tim that nobody else wants to attempt his quizzes. So let's round off the previous one, which obviously deals with Masters of the King's Musick. In most cases I think we can safely ask "Who he?". The remainder are:
3. Staggins
4. Eccles
5. Greene
6. Boyce
7. Stanley
8. Parsons
9. Shield
10. Kramer
Thanks again, Tim, for your attempts to get the old grey cells ticking.

Jo - you don't know how right you are!
Many thanks for playing the game. I'm completely
baffled by the lack of response from elsewhere,
to the extent that I'll not bother doing any more.

What a pity Tim if you do stop, I have enjoyed doing them very much, this time however I was on holiday with no internet access so couldn't take part and that is maybe true for other pianophiliacs. Give it a few weeks for the holiday season to finish and see if there is a better response then, if not then pull the plug.

Well, we'll see. I'm feel rather disillusioned by the whole thing.
(As regards anagrams, how hard is it to get 'Boyce' from 'be coy' ?!)

We puzzlers have to support Tim. So here's my modest contribution to the crosswordese type of teaser.
There's a connection between the ten composers in the following list (one's a jazzman, by the way). Who are they, and what's the link? Hope these are not too obscure.
1. Window repairer? (7)
2. Nylon itches, huh? Perhaps! (4-9)
3. More stormy? (7)
4. Flying in ancient Rome (6)
5. Messy lad held our zip (6-7)
6. Greek character’s attached to oak (8)
7. Yours truly with Mr Bath, as described by Miss Doolittle (7)
8. I dress man in lady’s undergarment! (7)
9. We canter all over the place (8)
10. Indian prince hosts an indefinite number (5)

Thank you Jo - please know that I'll sleep easy
in my bed until all your questions are solved!

All correct, Tim! Sorry about the miscount in 2. I guess that you've worked out the connection between them.

Interestingly Jo, there would be possible alternative solutions
to Nos. 1, 3, 8, and 10 if the link weren't in existence, namely
Glazier, Moerane, Braiman, and Rajan respectively.
(Your quiz is great since Cryptic clues + Obscure composers = Fun!)
