Yes, I already have the low-res scans of all of them, but these 600 dpi versions that Alfor is supplying us with make for fantastic printouts. This difference really shows up when enlarged.

Thank you so very much, Alfor ! It is so great to have these wonderful pieces in such a beautiful hi-res format; they are printing out nicely now and it looks like vol.3 will be at least 2" thick!

Is the long note in Russian at the bottom of the the 13th Sonata telling us that it is a rewrite of his op. 4 sonata? Seems like a lot of words there. It is very interesting to compare these to versions (just one of the major benefits of printing out these scores!).

With good luck, perhaps Malc will be successful in finding the missing op.100 (Three Fugues for Piano) and op.102, (Little Suite No.3) from vol.4 to complete vol.4.

Seems there are a few later piano pieces written after the "complete" edition appeared such as op.108, 110, 111 according to Malc's Encyclopedia. For now, we can all enjoy the bonanza of Alexandrov's works Alfor has given us.

Yes I do have Op 100 & 102 and will post these in the next couple of days [thankfully my copy of Vol. 4 was complete].

I am very grateful to Alfred for posting the Alexandrov volumes - I already had a large number of these works but it is nice to have electronic copies [and nicely scanned too]. I know Op 110 & 111 have been posted on PP in the past......I'm sure I may have a copy and will check. There are also a number of non-opus works, which again I have and can post eventually [unless Alfor beats me to it]

PS: sorry been out of the loop for the past week supporting a 5 CD recording project from Brillant Classics with the Italian pianist Marco Rapetti [he was after some obscure Russian scores]. If plans go well there may be some very interesting recordings coming from him / them in due course.

It says:

Sonata-Fairy Tale, opus 90, is a radical reworking of my first Sonata-Fairy Tale, opus 4. The first theme, the transition from the beginning to the second and the part codes are unchanged. The rest is all new.

Thus, it would be wrong to name the Sonata-Fairy Tale, opus 90, simply as a second edition of the first sonata; it is in effect a new sonata on an old theme. It seems to me that the new sonata completely embodies my former plan that wasn't previously possible for me in my unripened youth. The aspiration to it has been rising for a long time already, and in 1964 has resulted in the emergence of the 13th sonata.
