Thanks for the offer, rqsrqs, but it would be no help to me. I just wouldn't be able to imput your midi into Finale, whether it's possible or not; I'm a real technophobe!

When I transcribe I use the full score and try to imagine playing what is important, then score that, then try to play what I've scored, and then amend it to make it playable. But thank you all the same. If you(or anyone else) has any comments on the playability of my transcription of Dvorak please do post - I'd been keen to hear.

And I absolutley second your Vaughan Williams' "Thomas Tallas", a piece I've been considering transcribing for ages. I can't believe it hasn't been done professionally already. Maybe now I will do it ... bless, Shiela

It is the vocal score. Or were you looking for a full piano transcription?
I like your suggestion of the Brahms Double Concerto. There is a 4H version on imslp which makes it much easier for me to transcribe than using the full score.
I would also like to add to my wish list:
Prokofiev Symphony 5 ( esp. 2nd movement) and Shostakovich Symphony 5 (especially 4th movement).

I tried out your transcription of the Dvorak Serenade Movement 1. It is very playable and professional looking. Not to nitpick, I would suggest moving the low F# in measure 50 up one octave. Looking forward to the rest. It sounds great using my synthesized string orchestra.

Are all the Louis Winkler transcriptions of Beethoven's works lost that already haven't been uploaded?

According to Opus Transcribisticum, he has the only complete 2H reductions of the Trio, Op.97, the 4-hands sonata, Op.6, and the Violin Sonata, Op.30 #3.

Does anybody know if they are available at any libraries or archives?

op.97 has not been arranged by Winkler (and as far as I know only the Scherzo and the Andante were arranged by Stark)

Weird that Winkler didn't do the Archduke, one of the more important works. I see that he didn't get around to doing either of Op.70 either. What a shame. I don't suppose the Stark movements are available?

I guess Op.30 #3 was posted in the old forum, or maybe I haven't been looking hard enough.
