Robert Russell Bennett- Organ Sonata in G MajorMod edit: Since RRB died in 1981 and this piece was published in 1984, I think it's fair to say it's still under copyright. I'll leave it up here as an example of his (quite extensive) work, but, please, no more uploads. FB

Thanks for the Bennett Sonata, it is not one I know, however I played the Faxon Toccata last year so can say without fear of contradiction that it is a very nice handful, went down well with the faithful here in Holland.

The Bennett Sonata is a wonderful piece that, like so many works of its era, has gone by the wayside. There's a fine recording of it on a disc called "Organo Deco" played by the late David Britton. The label is Delos, if I remember correctly.
In the meantime, my plundering of the Yale Music Library has turned up another gem: Philip James' "Fete"
