Fred, thanks for the really interesting post of these two transcriptions. I had no idea anyone had made a decent transcription of the 1812.....and low-and-behold, here it is! Of great interest to me is Esipoff's transcription of the Nutcracker and it is really enlightening to compare this to Pletnev's verion. Esipoff does the overture and a few others that Pletnev does not, and putting the two together you have a pretty full set. I would say that Pletnev's version sounds fuller to my ears, IMHO.

They're great! Does anyone know if any other piano 2-hand transcriptions of any other Handel concertos exist??

There are four others by Giuseppe Martucci that I know of, but I only have one of them. It's called "Concerto No 1" in the score, but it's a transcription of Handel CG Op 6 No 12, which happens to be one of the ones Stark transcribed in the two scores you uploaded. But the Martucci is more, I dunno . . . virtuosic, I guess you could say.

Thank you, Zampano, for the Handel-Martucci. Not being a virtuoso myself, I prefer the less elaborate Stark transcriptions. But it's interesting to see how two transcriptions of the same composition can be so very different.
