Dear Alfred,
Thank you for posting this wonderful Sonata by von Holstein, and your great kindness in dedicating the post to me. You know how much I dearly love early Romantic Sonatas!
This one is truly a beauty, and once again I must say that the composer is completely new to me. The work is great fun to play...I was even able to finger through it in my current state of "out-of-practice!!" I think the composer owes a debt to Beethoven, but of course that's always a good thing in my book. You've unearthed a great treasure with this fine early Sonata!
Also I'd like to add that I'm still very much enjoying the great Michelowski collection. Every piece from this composer is truly a gem. As I always like to say... Ausgezeichnet!!
