Re: String Quartets
And back to Golubev...his sixth quartet, which is dedicated to Oleg Eiges. He would also compose his seventh quartet later that same year, along with his sixth piano sonata. I'm not sure if that latter quartet was published. I couldn't find info through Worldcat or elsewhere:
Yevgeny Kirillovich GOLUBEV
String Quartet no. 6, op. 52 (1965)

Re: String Quartets
Here is Anatoly Alexandrov's first string quartet, an early work of his. He composed a total of four, but the latter three are works from the 1940s-50s, when his style was considerably different.
Anatoly Nikolayevich ALEXANDROV
String Quartet no. 1, op. 7 (1914, rev. 1921)

Re: String Quartets
Here's a volume of four more quartets (as well as four consecutive opus numbers) by Golubev. The latest of his quartets that I've heard is the 15th, a 1976 composition that was recorded on a Melodiya LP. If that's any indication, the works of his later career are definitely worthy of greater consideration. I wouldn't put them on the same level as, say, cycles by Vainberg, Levitin, Falik, or Tishchenko, but would certainly think that they at least deserve to be revisited. The same goes for his cycle of piano sonatas.

Re: String Quartets
Here's a set of folk pieces by Sosnovtsev, which actually includes the above-posted piece. A bio for this composer can be found at:

To anybody who picked up the prelude sets on the Russian/Soviet composer thread, it appears the dates specified on those are a bit off.

Re: String Quartets
Here's an excellent pair of quartets from Georgia. Lots of info on Gabunia can be accessed at the following website:

As well, a number of other chamber pieces are available through IMSLP:

The second of these quartets can be heard on the following recording (which also includes Sulkhan Tsintsadze's 10th quartet and miniatures):
