A specimen copy is a free copy that is sent by the publisher to different people such as teachers, reviewers, by courtesy or for evaluation, and which is not for sale and is marked accordingly.

Ich hätte es nicht besser ausdrücken können! (I assume that "naturlaut" is resident in Germany, so I gave the german terms for "specimen copy").Jean-Séb wrote:A specimen copy is a free copy that is sent by the publisher to different people such as teachers, reviewers, by courtesy or for evaluation, and which is not for sale and is marked accordingly.

Jim, thanks for all your recent files.
I found out a bit about Childers:-
Lemuel Jennings Childers was born in Pawhuska, Osage, Oklahoma, in 1898,
and was the composer of various American-Indian works such as "Hiawatha",
"Peace Pipe", "Warriors", "Laughing Water", and "Sand Dance", all for
symphony orchestra.

This is now on CDs, but I think the original recording was made on a 78 rpm. I am so happy to have found this score.fleubis wrote:Nice to find something by Chasins besides his Chinese Pieces and this is an exquisite performance.
