Yes indeed! Reiner has given us some charming little nuggets here. (Arg! that you should mention Auschwitz, bringing back memories of my recent visit there.) Some of these pieces will give me some interesting orchestration opportunities given the interesting moods and colors they have.

Re: Czech & Slovak Composers
As we continue into week 8 with our Czech exploration, Alfred has found this rather odd work for us--the Kabelac Suite. This 1939 piece is trying hard to be modern, and while it has some interesting ideas, it is not my cup of tea. The "A Tempo" section on p.2 has an interesting, as is the pedal marking ABOVE the staff on that page.
Thanks for sharing this, Alfred.

Ich singe jetzt auf jeden Fall mal (unter Zeugen, also kein Scherz!): "Wohl uns, das wir Alfor haben!" ,sehr frei (bei meiner Stimme....) nach BWV 147!

I have a set of Preludes by Kabelac that are quite brilliant!fleubis wrote:As we continue into week 8 with our Czech exploration, Alfred has found this rather odd work for us--the Kabelac Suite.
