Parsonstreet, this is generous and fabulous. Many of these pieces are not normally available. Many thanks.

Really glad you liked the Migot ... you are probably one of the few here.n.nagata wrote:Dear Pianophilia menbers,
Thanks for nice scans of Migot scores!
I've been interested in Migot's piano music very much.
Some say Migot's music seems like as if everything is written in upside-down, but I think his music is highly original, and there's nothing like his piano music in french piano literature, indeed.
There are some extraordinaly beautiful moments (opening bars of 'Les Gemeaux' from Le Zodiaque, for example).
I've been looking for one of his scores for many years.
[Sonate (Polonia) (Leduc, 1947)]
Will someone please upload this Sonata?
As far a I know, no muic library in Japan have this score.
This is only published piano sonata by Migot.

(though, according to official web site, there are many unpublished piano pieces include more piano sonatas)
Norihiko Nagata, Japan
No, I don't have the Sonata, but I have the Nocturnes (all three of them). If you haven't already got it I'll scan them.
Migot's piano music is HARDLY ever performed nowadays.

Interest check before I run them throught the scanner:
- Paul Bazelaire (1886 - 1958), cellist and composer from Ardennes
- Joseph Boulnois (1884 - 1918), student of Vierne
- Louis Dumas (1877 - 1952). Apparently there are two Louis Dumas in our music history, and this one is from early 20th century. No further biographical information.

Yes, by all means. The first two names are indeed rather well known:naturlaut wrote:Interest check before I run them throught the scanner:

in particular for organ music.
I had on the old forum posted two pieces by Bazelaire and Boulnois, part of a collection. Here they are again, in case you missed them. I am not familiar with the last one, Louis Dumas, although a piece of him has been recorded by a member of this group:

Re: French Piano Music
Since I was asked to post it, here comes Gabriel Piernés Etude Symphonique. I thaught it was already available as copy, but really did not find it at IMSLP, so if this would be really a need, here it is.
You can ylso listen my recording of this wonderful nearly orchestral pianopiece:

Re: French Piano Music
Thank you. Is it a digital rendering of the score or a real interpretation?
You mention on your page Diane Andersen, and I believe she is the only one to have recorded all the piano works of Pierné. A recent CD by Laurent Wagschal features the great Variations op.42 and some nice other pieces.

Re: French Piano Music
What do you mean by "part II". Is it Act II of L'Alrlésienne or is it the second orchestral suite made after the Arlésienne?Precalculus wrote:I am looking for a copy of Bizet's Arlesienne part II for piano 2 hands.

The whole piano score is available at IMSLP:

Merci beaucoup, Jean
I am not so familiar with that kind of music; all what I knew was, there exist 2 suites Arlesiennes.
But know
* I have learnt something
* I have got what I was after

Re: French Piano Music
Actually it is, what I would call it a "digital interpretation". I know the piece for a long time since I by chance had the luck to record on my tapedeck a broadcasted Interpretation of Diane Anderson in the eighties, and I loved the piece and I loved the playing of Diane Anderson.Jean-Séb wrote:Thank you. Since I had for long time problems to get the score, I simply wrote her some years later, and she easily sent me a photocopy of here score, (with friendly greetings for my former pianoprof, she also new quite well

From that moment on I got the score I practiced it several times in the last years. When it comes to the search for a good demopiece for a new sampled piano I had the chance to do, I produced both Pierné Studies, the Etude de concert and the Etude symphonique. OK, the other one was chosen, maybe because it is shorter and has more of the typical brilliant character meanwhile this one is really orchestral and symphonic in its way to use the piano as in its dimension.
In so far the programming has a long history of aquaintance and playing expierience, meanwhile for this special recording it is pure programming.
best
Steffen
