Thanks for this link, Fred. There are extensive notes in English in this wonderful volume, much to my surprise.

You wouldn't exactly guess that Rachmaninoff has been influenced in any way by Ravel;
but the remarkable Var. XV** in fact shows a clear Ravel influence!!

Well, a flute might be a little to soft in that register, but depends on how the left hand is orchestrated. In Var 15, I particularly like that you have called attention to the phrase endings--very much overlooked in most performances I've heard (not to mention in my own playing) ////Of course when orchestrating, one has to think of these things.

Meanwhile, I find myself taking careful note of how you finger the various chordal passages and see many more finger changes that I SHOULD BE employing.

Thanks for posting this, Alfred.

Oh, never sensed the Ravel influence before Alfor. Somehow just felt that it's a reminiscence of the contemplative A minor Etude-tableux. But yes, after you pointed this out, I start to feel this. The tranquil and atmospheric quality of Db major...

ATTENTION please: I had to make some changes on pages 18, 19, 21 and 22
to adopt my fingering to the quick tempi.
Hope to post the complete work tonight!

Would anyone happen to have 2H arrangements from the ballet "La Bayadere" by Ludwig Minkus ? A pretty lousy scan by Sibley is already available. But it is hardly readable.
Thanks !
