Re: Salon music
Hello All,
Philip, Here is number 43.
Not sure where I got it now - someone might recognise the library referencing system, perhaps.
Obviously NMOS TTOS
I'm sure I have more. Is this a project now, to fill the missing Op.327 pieces ?- perhaps Bohm should have his own page.
Regards,
tobyjj

Re: Salon music
Thank you for that. I hope you (and the original scanner) will not mind if I put it on IMSLP. I would be interested in seeing the IMSLP page completed, so I am not sure if Bohm needs his own page here. Should I ever be asked to play in some piano marathon, a complete performance of Op. 327 might be more fun for the listener than Satie's Vexations, and certainly more playable for me than Opus Clavicembalisticum!tobyjj wrote:Hello All,

Re: Salon music
Philip,
I have no problem with you putting it on IMSLP at all, though I personally don't find it the easiest site to search.
I have done a quick search of my files and indeed do have more of this series (and suspect I have more).
Would you like me to post them here? (I am a member of ISMLP - but I find it a little bit complex.)
Regards,
tobyjj
P.S.
What I would really like to know is how I can persuade you to play a piece of my choosing for upload (by you) to your You Tube site so that I can listen to it.
There is a piece of music I have that I suspect is of insufficiently meritorious quality for you to want to put on your site - but I really would like to hear what it is "supposed" to sound like.

Re: Salon music
By typing 'Bohm' in the search box in the top right of the
IMSLP composers page, everything Bohm-related appears
on a series of Google pages. Or you can just Google
directly something like 'imslp bohm'.

Re: Salon music
Thank you for sharing the Hunten ! I am researching him a bit now - interesting stuff!mballan wrote:Franz Hünten (1793-1878). German pianist and composer. Studied with his father, then at the age of 26 went to Paris and took courses at the conservatoire with Pradher (piano) and Cherubini (composition). Primarily composed salon music for the piano (fantaisies, variations on opera themes, waltzes etc.) – with some 250 opus numbers, the majority of which he got published. He was also a noted piano teacher in Paris – having accumulated considerable capital he returned to Coblenz in 1848 and remained there unil his death.
Op 108 Fantaisie Russe Malcolm & Mr P
I was wondering if anyone has his any nocturnes by him? I believe he has an Op. 05 Nocturne and also one without an opus number? Thanks !!
