Re: The Romantic Piano Concerto Thread
It's good to finally find that Widor's two piano concertos, as well as his Fantasia, are being released in November on Hyperion.
My long wait is nearly at an end!

Re: The Romantic Piano Concerto Thread
Somervell composed two Piano Concertos, but I assume you are referring to the Normandy and not the Highland.
The CPS has scans of both, but neither was my work, so it is up to the decent chap that donated them to our archive.

I already have the Normandy. I should have specified that I was referring to the Highland. I believe the Normandy was posted on the old Pianophilia a few years ago.

I posted the Normandy Variations some time last year...............to my knowledge the Highland concerto was never published and only available in manuscript. I did see a private copy some moons ago and although reasonably clear, manuscripts are not particularly easy to read.jre58591 wrote:I already have the Normandy. Especially for my old buddy and chairman of CPS, Thal - I promised this two years ago and finally arranged for it to be scanned
Louis Vierne (1870-1937) and his beautiful Poeme for Piano & Orchestra, arranged for two pianos.

Op 50 Poeme for Piano & Orchestra (1926)

Very welcome indeed, and you have saved me my 300th British Library charge. I am bored to death with filling out their application form.

Today I came across the gorgeous Zhubinskaya piano concerto on YouTube:

Has anyone come across the score to this unknown masterpiece?
