Another two rare Josep Wieniawski scores - unfortunately my copies from a well-known library were not particuarly good, so my thanks to Parag for making them a little more presentatable.

Op 37 Nocturne Op 41 Mazurka de Concert

Leopold Lewandowski (1831–1896), known as the King of Mazurka and sometimes called the Polish Strauss composed more than 300 Polish dances and conducted the orchestra of Teatr Rozmaitości as well as a 24-member Jewish orchestra that performed public concerts in Warsaw's Saxon Garden.

Mazur narodowy by Josef Krogulski, who lived 1815 - 1842.

Don't know if you knew this already, but some works by Josef Wieniawski have been recorded by Tomas Kamieniak on the Acte Préalable label:

I suggest that you title this file Marsz rather than Mazur.

Tomasz is currently preparing to record a 2nd disc [and hopefully 3rd & 4th discs] for Acte Prelable............hence the Wieniawski I posted recently, which I obtained specifically for his planned recordings. The 1st CD is very enjoyable...and wonderful to hear these works from an excellent pianist.

Yes, you are right, Walter. A march is not a dance and a Mazurka is not a march.
