Heartily seconded - you're referring to the Concerto Ricercante of 1959 - quite a tough piece if I remember rightly. A good composer, sometimes too indebted to Honegger - evinced by his best known work the Sinfonia del Mare after Ebba Lindqvist. But he often wrote music that echoes the serene but icy spirit of Sweden's beautiful landscapes.

Another Palmgren piece that I acquired tonight.
Vårbäckarnas brus (The Rushing of the Spring Brooklets). Work Without Opus.
600 dpi, and the two tone color covers that Wilhelm Hansen liked to use.

Rudolph Sophus Bergh (1859-1924), Danish Composer.
Originally educated as zoologist. (Dr.Phil in 1885), but from 1903 he started composition studies in Germany.
Influenced very much by Brahms.

Camillo Alphonzo Johannes Peter Carlsen (1876-1948).
Danish composer and organist. Held the post as Organist in Roskilde Cathedral from 1911-1946. This is where we bury our kings and queens here in Denmark, so quite an important position.
