Thanks for these amazing scans. But I think that part 2 of Concert fur Jazz-Orchester und Pianoforte is missing.

Re: The Romantic Piano Concerto Thread
Hi fleubis,
Thanks for your feedback and also for the keen observations which you shared with us regarding the Gebhardt Concerto. It is definitely interesting to consider the work in the context of Gershwin and Ravel! And I'm sure Gebhardt would have felt duly honored as well.
And Gilbert, you are quite welcome for the scans. I posted everything which I have on the Concerto, so if there is another part I'm not aware of it. I copied this Concerto at the Library of Congress, so the original is still accessible.
All Best,
Frank

Hi Frankfhimpsl wrote:Hi fleubis,
Thanks for your comments re. the Kuster Concerto and (on another thread) the Harrison Kerr preludes. I'm really glad you enjoy them and always appreciate your thoughtful feedback!
Here is another German "Novelty Era" concerto; this time by one Rio Gebhardt. An ambitious work!
Enjoy,
Frank
It's the Gebhardt Concerto that is missing its middle part - specifically pages 12 to 21. Have a look at your post - this is the post that Gilbert is referring to...

Re: The Romantic Piano Concerto Thread
Hi Rob,
Thanks for pointing out this error...I was completely unaware of it.
Trying to do too many things at the same time, and my postings became switched. For completeness sake, I am re-posting the entire concerto here.
And Gilbert, I'm sorry for misunderstanding your note. I never realized how I had mixed up the Gebhardt Concerto with another Gebhardt piece (also in three sections) that I was posting on another thread. At least we do have all the music!
All Best,
Frank

Thanks Frank - easy to do when you're posting so much, for which many many thanks as ever.

Re: The Romantic Piano Concerto Thread
Thanks, Frank for getting us the whole Gebhart concerto. It is really pretty flashy stuff,
I wonder if you have Part 1 of Gebhart's - Aus der Spielzeugschacht laying about somewhere, as you only seem to have posted Part 2.

Fleubis,
You obviously have not been keeping up with Frank's Herculean posting marathon in the Syncopated threads forum.
Bottom of page 66
There are actually 3 parts to it - all the more to enjoy !
Regards,
tobyjj

Re: The Romantic Piano Concerto Thread
Thanks tobyjj ! I don't know how I missed this, but clearly I should be checking the syncopated thread more often since Frank posts so many interesting pieces there. After I return from holiday, coming back to Pianophilia presents a real challenge to catch up and just now that I'm caught up, I'm off on holiday again for a week.....but hope I to do a better job of reviewing the wonderful posts on Pianophilia. A fresh toner cartridge for my printer should be waiting for me and I can resume my printouts. A lot of paper gets used up printing these amazing pieces.

Ottorino Respighi (1879 - 1936)
two nice works from his early years, well written for the piano
(already circulating around in the web - nms tttos)
