Re: Piano Transcriptions for two hands
I think this is a movie theme, there's a Bing Crosby film by the same name, song seems to have been extremely popular in its day likely from the success of the movie

Re: Piano Transcriptions for two hands
this is from a book by Kurt Stephenson simply says anthology of music, this volume was the classics, published by Arno Volk Verlag Cologne 1962. I couldn't find much about it so I did this solely as musical example of an otherwise out of print workJim Faston wrote:From the Norton Anthology?
edit I found it, the citations page eluded me , I pulled out the book and it says it's by Hugo Reimann I can fix the title of the uploaded file and re attach tomorrow
ie this guy pretty sure its him

Re: Piano Transcriptions for two hands
That looks mighty familiar, but I don't recall having that volume around here.
-edit-
Got it - in volume 7 of this from Sibley:

I knew it looked familiar. The other transcriptions may be of interest to you.

Re: Piano Transcriptions for two hands
Thank you Fred. I've earmarked various other works by Mozart for similar piano arrangements.
I particularly like K.587, written at the same time as Cosi, presumably.

Thank you, Timtin, for this nice surprise!Timtin wrote:Here are a couple of Mozart dances arranged for the piano.
I must confess that the Contradances are the only Mozart compositions that I never listen to, mainly because I can’t stand the circumstances surrounding it. At that time the only job the emperor would give him was to compose Contradances for the court dances. What a waste of his precious time! Tomorrow I’ll make an exception and play your transcriptions. I’m sure that won’t be a waste of time!
Greetings, kroket
