Re: School of Syncopation - Jazz, Stride, Novelties & the Li
TimTim and Tobyjj and whomever else is interested:
I do have the sheet music to The Wedding of the Painted Doll. It appears to be the original, not a simplified copy. I'm happy to post it if it hasn't been already. I would just need some time to scan it.

Hi Shoshana - if it's a piano solo version which is different from the easy version by
Billy Mayerl and the more advanced version by Pauline Alpert, then it would be interesting
to see, thank you. (My incomplete Prowse edition here turns out to be the Mayerl one.)

Timtin,
It is a piano solo version different than the Mayerl and Alpert versions. This is from the Miller Series of Piano Solos by Miller Music Corporation, copyright 1929. I will do my very best to scan, download and post tomorrow.

Timtin and Tobyjj,
Here is my scan of The Wedding Of The Painted Doll by Nacio Herb Brown. It is from the Miller Series of Piano Solos from the Miller Music Corporation, copyright 1929. Hopefully this is the one that you are looking for. It appears to be the original piano solo. I originally scanned everything, including the inner "advertisement" pages as well as the back cover. However, the file was too big so I left out the 2 advertisement pages and the back cover. The front cover is scanned.
Enjoy!
Shoshana

Hi Shoshana - thanks for the high quality scan,
which I shall print out.
The colour cover is definitely a bonus. Looking
at the score itself, it looks very much like the one
with which Billy Mayerl is associated, but that's
not a problem.

Hi Timtin.
Yes, it seems to be the same one as in Mayerl's folio. I somehow missed downloading those so I didn't realize that it was in there. And I just assumed that Mayerl had transcribed it. I should have checked first. Anyway, now it's available with the color cover.
If by any chance you'd like the back cover or the inside covers let me know. They are scanned but not posted as it made the file to big.
Regards,
Shoshana

Hi Shoshana - I also didn't spot that the Mayerl edition had already
been made available previously, when I made the original request!
That's the snag with albums of different works.
(Only if an uploader includes a list of the enclosed works of an album
in the accompanying message will the search function help, of course.)
If you get the chance to colour scan the other pages of the cover,
I'd be very pleased to have them, but only for the sake of completion.
Btw, talking of the search function, if you hit the 'Place inline' button
which appears after a file has been added, the filename itself will
appear at the start of the message, and thus be searchable. I then
always cut and paste this filename to the end of the message.
Regards, Tim.

Re: School of Syncopation - Jazz, Stride, Novelties & the Li
I've attached the inside and back covers to The Wedding Of The Painted Doll. Thanks for the info on how to add the file name. I'll try to remember to do that the next time that I post a piece, although it doesn't seem that I have anything that hasn't already been posted by someone else.

Best regards,
Shoshana
