Re: Music of the Caucasus [Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia etc.
Thank you for your help with this, Paul! (I regret to inform that there are quite a few more like this!)
Continuing onward, here is a work by Merab Partskhaladze that celebrates the Georgian folk instrument called the panduruli, an example of which can be heard here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i3TzFxh9WuM
Partskhaladze included another work with this name in his Pieces (3), op. 3 (available elsewhere on the forum), but this is a different work:
Merab Alekseyevich PARTSKHALADZE

If you are putting me under pressure in this way I have to do some more file-reducing today.
So here are some more.
Best
Paul

Here's a piece by an Armenian composer who comes from a very musical family (both his father and uncle were also composers). He studied under Eduard Bagdasaryan. His bio is available at:
http://www.musicianspage.com/musicians/ ... ativepage/
The first set of pieces features some interesting elements of modern notation:
Aram SATYAN (SATIAN)
Pieces (3), for piano Update: 2-23
Bagatelles (6), for piano

Here's a small sample of the work of an extremely prolific Armenian composer. This composer has long been a mainstay in that nation's pedagogic tradition:
Areg LUSINYAN (LUSINIAN)
Piano works (3); The Merry Locomotive, Monkeys' Frolic, Volchak
