Edgar Stillman Kelley (1857–1944). American composer and critic. Studied in Chicago and at the Stuttgart Conservatory. From 1901-02, he taught at Yale, replacing Horatio Parker, and afterward in Berlin until 1910, when he then became dean of the composition department of the Cincinnati Conservatory. Among his works are an orchestral suite,
Aladdin (1894), based on Chinese music heard in San Francisco; two symphonies,
Gulliver (1913–37) and
New England (1913); and an oratorio,
The Pilgrim's Progress (1918).
Two works [Op 2 & Op 8 I think] are available through IMSLP....here is his Op 35 Polonaise [thank you Mr P].

Very many thanks! Without doubt one of my favourite pieces of Rudhyar.

Charles Dennée was an American composer about which very little is known (at least by this rank amateur). It is with him I continue spreading musical potpourri. Does anyone have any other pieces of his not on IMSLP, perchance?
Best,
Curtis

John Alden Carpenter (February 28, 1876 - April 26, 1951) - studied under Elgar, but ended up back in Chicago and ran the family business. Here's the wiki link to his bio:

Sibley has posted his Concertino in a 2-piano arrangement; IMSLP has some other Carpenter pieces. Here's
Diversions - Five Pieces for Piano. Please forgive the scanning flaws; the score crumbled apart as I was scanning (and rescanning and rescanning and rescanning) it.

I can't find much on
Arthur L. Brown, beyond this piece of music; I'm guessing he was from North America. Would anyone happen to have the piece "
Lights and Shadows" mentioned on the cover?
Best,
Curtis
