To my knowledge this is the second degree cousin of the better known L.van Beethoven...

Attached a little Beethoven transcription by Oscar Mayo (?).
Published by S.[ilas] Brainard's son [Cleveland] in 1873.

Incidentally, I understand there is a Mocheles transcription of Beethoven's Fidelio, and REVISED BY BEETHOVEN himself........ anyone has more information about this???
