An astonishing and essential illustration of this is the Danish composer Rued Langgaard's INSECTARIUM for piano written in 1917

I'd very interested to see this score if anybody has it ...?

By the way here's another one : http://imslp.org/wiki/Nocturne_%27Le_Gr ... alentin%29
The cricket

Thanks very much for the Fumet! His name cropped up a couple of times in the thread "Cesar Franck and his circle", but this is the first work of his that I've seen posted in Pianophilia. Are any others available?

Well, I suppose in honour of the Winter Olympics in Canada I have to upload this, which I learnt as a youngster many years ago, and still can't play ...

Le grillon = cricket. I didn't think it was played in France!
Maybe someone could start threads based on other types
of fauna such as amphibians and reptiles.

In the spirit of this thread, I am posting an effort of my own entitled "Cricket's Lament." This was from a suite of four pieces, all dedicated to Billy Mayerl who of course wrote a piano suite of pieces entitled "Insect Oddities." It is the only one which I notated, using Encore and a good deal of help from my dear late friend, Jon Skinner. It is my attempt to emulate the Mayerl style. I hope you enjoy it. I posted this under the thread "21st Century Composers" here viewtopic.php?f=44&p=4567#p4559

All best,

Frank Himpsl

Mode edit: I have replaced Frank's upload with the link to the other thread so as to avoid duplicated uploads. FB.

Searching for new scores, found that one
It's for piano and voice but I believe it belongs to this post if not remove it.

No one seems yet to have mentioned Scriabin's Tenth Sonata...

Best,
