Thank you, Caprotti. I hope I fixed the file. Thank you so much for the other pdf files!

and this is var.n.4a in the original form, followed by var.4 as printed in all the old editions till 1950 or so
Ponti's playing is very brilliant even though a live recording can hardly respect all the details of the score ....
Chopin - Variazioni su 'La ci darem la mano' op.2 - var.4a 4b - Ponti M. - 151280 - Milano.mp3

Thanks for the recording. So, I am a bit puzzled - do we have the score for this additional variation, or we have to search for it?

Cheers.

according to an italian scholar the 'new variation' should be found in the paderewski polish edition of the complete works, but I don't have such volume

Does anyone have Franz Bendel's Hommage a Chopin Op.111 no.1 which was recently recorded by Jonathan Plowright in his hyperion album Hommage a Chopin? It is such a beautiful piece that I really want to play it. Could somebody post? Thanks.
Best,
Koon

Seconded. To shorten the waiting time for this rare item, a Chopin contribution by the Freddy Mercury of/on the organ, Mr. Cameron Carpenter - Revolutionary Etude on the pedals:

1st version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQxyQktNFwc
2nd version (optically more mystic): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PvbEEhee3GU

Incredible, both ...

Jonathan used my copy of this score when he made the recording and I am happy to post it here. I'm really busy though, so won't manage to scan it until after I return from Midem (record industry trade-fair) at the end of next week. If no one else has produced it by then you will have it from me.

Here is a pdf of the LOC Bendel piece:

Here is the Chopin Variation 4 "version primitive" and I apologize for the huge file size and the lousy scan. I will do it again when I am not so hurried.
